A redraw challenge asks an artist to revisit an old piece of their own work and draw it again with current skills, placing the two versions side by side to show exactly how much their technique and style have genuinely developed over the months or years in between the two attempts.
These challenges are popular precisely because the improvement is often dramatic and immediately visible, which can feel genuinely encouraging after a long stretch of gradual, hard to notice progress that rarely feels obvious from day to day while an artist is still deep in the middle of learning and practising it.
