When Two Fandoms Collide Happily
Launch library · evergreen read

A crossover happens when fans of one story imagine its characters meeting or interacting with characters from an entirely different one, blending two separate fictional worlds into something that officially exists nowhere but feels perfectly natural within fan created work and discussion built patiently around the pairing over the following months.
Crossovers appeal to fans partly because they let a favourite character be seen through an entirely fresh lens, reacting to unfamiliar rules or unfamiliar company in ways the original story never had reason to explore, which can reveal something genuinely new about a character even after years of following them closely.
These crossover spaces often attract fans from both original fandoms at once, creating a small, temporary bridge between two communities that might otherwise never interact. Some of the more unlikely creative pairings end up producing surprisingly thoughtful work precisely because neither original story constrains what the combination can become.
