Wearing fandom related clothing, discussing a favourite show loudly on public transport, or bringing fan enthusiasm generally out into shared public spaces requires a slightly different kind of awareness than behaving the same way purely within a dedicated fan community built entirely around shared, mutual understanding of exactly what is being discussed and why.
Considerate conduct in public means being mindful that not everyone nearby shares the same context or genuine interest, keeping volume and spoilers reasonably in check, and generally reading the room rather than assuming universal enthusiasm for a topic that, however beloved within a fandom, remains niche to most passing strangers.
This awareness is not about hiding genuine enthusiasm, it is simply about reading context sensibly. Plenty of fans wear their fandom proudly and visibly in public while still remaining considerate of the people around them who may have absolutely no idea what any of it actually means or refers to.
