A healthy fandom group chat tends to move in waves, bursts of active conversation followed by quiet stretches where everyone is simply busy elsewhere, rather than maintaining one constant, unbroken stream of messages at all hours of the day and night without any real pause for breath between one burst of activity and the next.

Good group chats also develop their own internal rhythm of topics, catching up casually, sharing something new that was just found, occasionally diving into a proper deep discussion, without any one member needing to constantly direct where the conversation actually goes next at any given moment.

The best chats make room for members to drop in and out freely without any real pressure to keep up with everything that was said while they were away. That relaxed, low pressure flexibility is often exactly what keeps a group chat feeling comfortable rather than genuinely exhausting to remain part of.
