A First Timer's Guide to Conventions
Launch library · evergreen read

Walking into a convention for the very first time can feel genuinely disorienting, with crowds, noise and an unfamiliar layout all arriving at once. Arriving early on the first day and taking a slow, unhurried lap before committing to any firm plan usually helps settle those first nervous feelings.
It helps enormously to pick just two or three things to prioritise rather than trying to see absolutely everything on offer. Conventions reward focus, whether that is one particular panel, a specific stall, or simply meeting people, far more than an exhausting attempt to experience it all at once.
Comfortable shoes, water and a fully charged phone matter more than they might sound like they would. The most common regret shared among first timers is simply not planning properly for the real physical stamina a full convention day genuinely requires from start to finish. Pacing the day deliberately, rather than rushing between everything at once, usually makes for a far better experience.
